Sharada Dilip Acharya
I am Sharada Dilip Acharya, the craft-preneur at HappyMomentzz an MBA Finance graduate turned into Crafter, Blogger, Traveller, Photographer and a full-time hands-on Mother to my 7-year-Old son. I believe in the joy of giving and I am associated with different causes which support the unprivileged in different ways.
Motherhood is a Bliss, it helped me to change for the better, I am learning each day,to laugh more, to play more, to be more vigilant and to love myself as well as others equally! .Motherhood makes you realize that you have it in you to do much more than you are already. I was searching for something I would love to do all the while till motherhood led me to do it.
Happy Momentzz came together as an opportunity to fulfil my creative instinct for someone who enjoys making handmade things! I always wanted to be an Entrepreneur. When I conceived my son in 2009, there were so many happy moments during pregnancy I wanted to treasure. I started scrapbooking to organize our photos, but it turned into a passion when I was asked to create some scrapbooks for friends and there it was - the niche I was looking for.
I ventured into card making to make Birthday Invites & party favours. I started up with a Facebook page HappyMomentzz and showcasing my brand at different events. From Sunday Soul Sante my journey of retail began and since then I do 2-3 shows in various cities in a year, and then there was no turning back!
I have been crafting since I was a little girl. Sitting by my Grandmother, watching her sew and craft, it became almost natural for me to follow in her footsteps. Fascinated by the beauty of Indian sarees, I went on to design & got trained do handwork on Sarees & Dresses. Over the years I got into painting and watercolors. I tried my hand at different mediums, each one equally interesting and challenging as the other. My childhood was filled with arts & crafts and every day was an exciting adventure of creation. I have always been surrounded by many creative housewives all my life, they inspired me to build my dream stronger for being a care-oriented women.
I launched my Craft venture on 2012 at an exhibition called Sunday Soul Sante in Bangalore and then there was no turning back. All positive attention led me to the startup of my brand HappyMomentzz and I became a Craft-prenuer. HappyMomentzz is run at my home studio where I make my handmade projects and take on commission work. I also do Craft shows and take up Workshops. I have been constantly innovating to bring out new quality products,It’s what keeps me excited and motivated. In last 6 years, HAPPYMOMENTZZ has successfully served more than 500 clients across India and abroad. All I can imagine doing is taking HAPPYMOMENTZZ across as far and wide. I have been part of several Design teams and recently finished my Term with Itsy Bitsy as their Facebook coordinator. I have been on Print for all the good reasons and you can read all about it in my Craft Resume
I work from home so I can balance my two separate lives, enabling me to have complete flexibility to work as well as being around my son and to get him to do his activities! I’m working harder than ever… my work happens mostly when my son is in school or engaged in any activities and I treat HappyMomentzz as my second baby, It definitely is the toughest of mine to take care of….. Some days, the kid needs me more and other days HappyMomentzzz needs me more.I make a choice between them every day, sometimes several times a day, and stick with it and I'm still working on balancing them all and having fun along!
For all the budding creative mothers, I would suggest-Go for it !! Experience will come irrespective, it's important to take that plunge and to be conscious of the fact that it was you who made the choice.
