Pooja Sharma

Hello everyone, myself Pooja Sharma from Gurgaon, Haryana, a Mother of a little naughty champ and by profession, a passionate crafter. I did fashion designer(F.D) and B.Com from Delhi University. I worked as an art and craft teacher at a woman’s Polytechnic but after getting married I decided to work from home. Thereafter, I started my own art and craft studio(Follow me on Facebook,  my blog , Pinterest, Instagram Youtube ) Once I became a mother, I took a break so i can spend quality time with my son. Now as he is growing up so fast, he wants my personal attention,  which demands time. Therefore, at times it becomes quite difficult for me to balance personal and professional life but I am blessed to have a supportive family who is always there for me.

Well!  Right from my childhood days, I loved making creative and interesting stuff. Creative things always attracted me. While I was doing my fashion designing, my folders, coloring sheets, projects were noticed by my teachers because they looked different from rest of the lot. I was the topper in my batch and when people started appreciating my work, I realized that I can do something in this field too. I started my job as an F.D teacher and later got an offer from a woman’s Polytechnic, where my art journey started professionally.

Sharing few of my achievements and accords, I was blessed to be a winner and got featured in some of the best Social Media Platforms on a National and International level, It is always a humbling experience when people appreciate your hard work

Constructing career in which it is possible to have the freedom and self-rule to pursue work that mattered is an achievement in itself. But for me, being a mother is simply the greatest achievement of my life. Indeed, there is no greater acclaim than to be honored as a mother.

Being a mother is a gift that is unimaginable, It’s a love that grows continually, a love that always wants more and better. It’s a blessing, a relationship that never ends and in life, many things fade away with time but a mother’s love that never dies. It’s the best thing I have ever become, the greatest love I have ever felt and the best part about being me.

Like most mother entrepreneurs, the most challenging part of being a mom entrepreneur is to have a balance between personal and professional life. Once you have a child, they become the epicentre of your life. Everything is determined by their needs and schedules, particularity when they are young. My Son is my first priority, and hence, I wanted some work that would give me the liberty of choosing how much and when to work especially I never wanted to give up my passion for the craft. So, it was quite clear that I had to be self-employed as a crafter and a mother and will have to give up on a career as an F.D Teacher.

Talking about my passion- well it's endless and its growing year by year as I love learning and experimenting new things. For me, It’s challenging as I need to work my schedules around my kid. Sometimes it happened I m in the middle of the most important thing, but when your kids call or decide to have a tantrum, nothing else is more important.B ut I believe, that I am lucky to have a very supporting husband who is always there for me and because of him I am able to follow my passion.

I always wanted to do various kind of art which I love. I also love learning different things and working with the different medium. That is why I love to make murals, clay modeling, waste material craft, siporex, acrylic and resin craft and now I am enjoying paper crafting. Lately, my favorite is mixed-media and I really enjoy making mix media projects

I love to do experiments. I always try to make and learn different techniques and styles. I don't want to stick to just one kind of craft; I like to make things out of waste because I believe nothing is useless in this world for a crafter. I like bright colors, so most of the time I use vibrant colors in my work. I love to do mix media projects the most.

A message I would like to give to all creative and talented Indian mothers who are afraid to take that plunge -never give up, do what you love, give time to your work it doesn't matter how much time you are giving it's all about your passion and love towards your work,do your best to live and full fill your dreams, if you are hardworking and passionate about your work no one can stop you, you will shine on your day so till then keep doing your best

I would like to thank Maher of Indian Creative Mothers for giving this honour and opportunity to share my creative mother journey.
